Anticipated Re-Opening In Late September To Boast New Entrance; Interior, Exterior Environs And Furnishings; New Menu; Increased Jobs Supported By New Branding

After 12 years of success as a popular full-service beachfront restaurant and bar on AIA, Oceans 234 is getting an extensive $1 million transformation with structural changes, layout reorientation, a new sense of arrival and signage, an enhanced interior flow with increased indoor seating, a private oceanfront function space and an engraved paver path leading from entrance to beachfront boardwalk. According to owner Danielle Rosse, construction on the extensive re-design that begins on August 3rd will substantially update the look of the almost 6,000-square-foot, 220-seat restaurant to match the service and food standards it has grown to provide, create continuity to the overall brand, make more space usable and comfortable and add hospitality jobs.

Rosse shared that the re-design – directed by Rosse, conceptualized by Id And Design International (IDDI) and built out by A.W. Rosse & Associates — will revitalize Oceans 234 with a vibrant, fresh look and feel.  The transformation — done in rich woods and subtle hues with tropical touches of turquoise, tangerine and natural greenery — will deliver contemporary casual resort-style environs with the exterior of building more distinguished and recognizable.
A new branding program – designed by OGK Creative in Delray Beach – will resonate from all restaurant collateral to its new web site and all online and in-restaurant presence; South Florida-based Kaye Communications Marketing & PR has been retained to share the brand story and its signature features, advantages and benefits.

“The design plan will boast an upscale look, yet retain the very comfortable, social vibe and feel that Oceans 234 has long been known for,” noted Rosse. “Our guests will be wowed by the new openness and beauty of the views without any column obstruction and complemented well by new furnishings, artwork and a new menu.”

To achieve this, Rosse noted that the obstructing columns will be removed on the exterior patio to open up the outside — without interrupting the space — to yield full views of the beach, ocean and pier. Current bathroom accommodations will be relocated to create more flexibility in seating capacity inside with a new private area that will accommodate up to 40 guests.

Rosse added that a Nano glass sliding door system incorporated into the design will open up the building and bring more of the outdoors to its inside diners.  She noted that even when the Nano doors are closed, the system’s floor to ceiling windows allow the breathtaking oceanfront view to be seen by those dining or socializing at the bar.

Upon arrival, diners will be welcomed into a new re-oriented reception area that transitions into a more inviting, cohesive interior design and flow.  Various configurations of seating in the reception/open bar area allow for more guest interaction with intimate seating areas, high tops and a long banquette table for one large party or shared by multiple groupings.

“We are also pleased that the re-design enables us to increase hospitality jobs in the area with 15-20 new positions,” added Rosse who reported that Oceans 234 currently employs 85 in a variety of roles who will receive incentives to return for re-opening. While the 60-day renovation is underway, the Oceans 234 management team, including its executive chef, will look forward to spending time out in the community, visiting nonprofits and school programs to ‘serve up’ hospitality business and food service education.

Rosse added that Oceans 234 will be open until constructions on August 3rd and encourages guests to take advantage of its many special countdown promotions, events and menu specials planned (with details featured on www.Oceans234.com and its Facebook page). Beginning this Friday with its renovation celebration launch party through August 2nd, guests

Demonstrating that just ‘one step can lead to great things’, the program to date raised $20,000 of its goal within its first two weeks to benefit the vital missions of Deerfield Beach Chamber of Commerce community projects, Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County and Broward Health Foundation’s ‘KIDS Campaign’.
