The Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton Has Rescheduled
This Saturday’s Sold-Out 2016 Boca Raton Mayors Ball
To Sunday, October 16th At Broken Sound Club
BOCA RATON, Fla. (October 5, 2016) — Planned for the same location with same red carpet arrival, the band, program and experience planned for this Saturday evening, the Rotary Club Downtown Boca Raton’s 2016 Boca Raton Mayors Ball has been rescheduled to Sunday, October 16th at 5:30 pm. The announcement was made today by Boca Raton Mayors Ball Co-Chairs Jon Kaye and Constance Scott following several days of monitoring the path of Hurricane Matthew, keeping current on Governor Scott and Mayor Susan Haynie’s hurricane announcements and continuous communications with Broken Sound Club, Rotary Club leadership, the Ball Advisory Committee and vendors.
“As it became clearer that the event would need to be rescheduled, we worked quickly to find the best alternate date and secured location availability, and then re-confirmed engagement with all our event partners,” said Mayors Ball Co-Chair Jon Kaye. “It was through the on-going, sometimes hour-by-hour solution-finding collaboration with Broken Sound Club General Manager John Crean and his team, The Steve Chase Band, The Boca Raton Historical Society, Dalsimer Atlas Floral & Event Decorators, photographers and others, we pulled together to deliver the intended five-star service and attention-to-detail for the rescheduled date.”
Kaye added that the decision to move to a Sunday evening beginning at an earlier time followed a deliberate, thoughtful review of all other gala and community events already planned for the following weeks – including Florida Atlantic University’s Homecoming Weekend and The Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce’s annual gala – so that the rescheduled Mayors Ball date would not compromise or have an impact on any other such event.
“While we look forward to celebrating Boca’s assets, visionaries and honorees a weekend later, we want everyone to make their focus this week to be about being and remaining ‘safe and sound’ at home and at work,” added Co-Chair Constance Scott. “Preparation is critically important right now…as we hope for the best, brace for the impact of Hurricane Matthew.”
