Reaching nearly 80% of its goal, the Oceans 234 (http://www.oceans234.com) community-inspired ‘234 One Step’ engraved brick paver program to benefit three area nonprofits has raised $40,000 since it launched this June. With the initiative goal set for $50,000, Oceans 234 owner Danielle Rosse, reports that there are now only a limited amount of pavers left for those who want to take their ‘first step’ toward making an indelible change locally.
Created as part of the popular beachfront restaurant’s $1 million renovation program it has underway with completion and re-opening anticipated for early October, the paver initiative increases awareness and funding support for the Deerfield Beach Chamber of Commerce community projects, Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County and Broward Health Foundation’s ‘KIDS Campaign’. To reach its funding goal and complete the walkway, Oceans 234 encourages companies, individuals, foundations and supporters of the One Step paver program beneficiaries to mark their philanthropic passion by choosing from three ‘give’ levels: One Small Step (4’ x8’) for $199, One Big Step (8’ x8’) for $375 and One Giant Step (16’ x16’) for $800 with a limited amount of exclusives. Once purchased, each brick paver will be inscribed as the donor wishes to show companywide support, honor a loved one, share a favorite quote, commemorate a special occasion or rally for a vital mission.
“It only takes one person or company to inspire the world to make a step toward change, and through our One Step program we are pleased to have inspired hundreds in our community to buy out these engraved paver opportunities to benefit the needs of our community,” added Rosse who noted the paver path will welcome guests at the Oceans 234 entrance and run along the south side of the restaurant leading to the boardwalk and beach. ”Our new walkway will serve as a permanent reminder that the Oceans234 team, our guests and community-at-large are passionately vested making and keeping South Florida a thriving and compassionate place in which to live, work and play.”
Rosse reported that the 234 One Step paver program she conceived to fund community-centric missions for children’s wellbeing, healthcare and business and economic enhancement offers ease-of-donation accessibility through several outreach channels. While Oceans234 is closed for renovation, donors can contribute on the paver program via online informational campaign video, a dedicated donation page on the Oceans 234 website: oceans234.com/onestep and social media.
“As we are in the midst of transforming Oceans234 with structural changes, a new layout reorientation, a welcoming ‘sense of arrival’, increased indoor seating, and a private oceanfront function space, we look forward finalizing and unveiling the new paved walkway,” added Rosse.
